![]() If they produce an heir, your claim is removed. If they die without an heir, you get a personal union. 'm not 100% sure though, feedback appreciated.Ĭ : You share a dynasty (meaning a noble of your country has throne). Ishould look at the conditions for this event again, but i think you just need 4+ RM total. And the event can fire *without* claiming throne. And yes, their weak claim heir *can* be replaced by a strong heir of your dynasty, i have seen this happen.) Yet again, your dynasty can become reality. BUT: if you got 4+ royal marriages you can get the event that places an heir of your dynasty on their throne (event is called "royal marriage policy succesful" or something like that). This is pointless and you will get nothing. All because i started eyeing them month after month, waiting for my chance to claim throne.ī : You do not share a dynasty. I started war after preying for their monarch' death, took me 14 years of loans, looming bankruptcy and sky high exhaustion, but i won. It netted me, yet again, a pu over a greater power, england. Why? *If* that interesting country has 40+ king with a regency heir for example, and the target county gets the event that might kill their heir, you can see the outcome right after. Enable minor and major event popup and pause for interesting countries, for any event they get. Put every country your interested in for personal unions in "interested" category, and no other countries( put all other countries as default for these kinda messages, or you will get event messages of every country across the globe!). *important tip*: enable the popup and pause for *every country* that gets new king. ![]() If a noble of your house does get their throne, you officialy made a dynasty!!! If he dies, a noble of your house will succeed to throne( if you got HIGHER prestige then their other RM partners do, important!!), giving you a "force personal union" CB if you claim throne again once that noble of your dynasty seizes the throne. ![]() CLAIM the throne if their heirless king is 40+. You may not start a war to create a union. If they produce an heir, your chances for this are removed. "a xxxxyan noble succeeds to the throne" it will say, if you look at what the outcome of succesion will be, in their diplomacy window. The default result is that a noble of your country will become king should their king die without an heir. If they die without an heir, you get *very* small chance to get a personal union. So watch that prestige.Ī : You do not share a dynasty. If you want to claim throne of an ally you won countless wars with, this is of utmost importance! I once claimed throne at +96 prestige and target country (ally) had +90. If you don't have higher prestige then the country you want to claim throne. ALSO: playing the claim throne and royal marriage game means keeping prestige at near hundred all the time, never giving in to rebels. Just enable EVERYTHING and disable manually what you don't like (bottom right corner of any popup: you can disable, enable, popup and pause etc). EU4 is about tooltips and popups, if you ask me. Just take 30 minutes to enable whatever popus and pauses you want in message settings. It is tiresome to look at all those popups, but it can net you greater powers like castile, england, muscovy as a minor PU slave. Playing this game means enabling pop up events and pauses and micro managing everything with all countries. You are a republic, you can't do all of this!
